St. Mark’s is thrilled to announce that last week, the vestry voted unanimously to accept the bishop’s appointment of Joshua Daniel as Priest-in-Charge at St. Mark’s. Joshua will graduate from Virginia Theological Seminary in May, and begin his ministry at St. Mark’s as Deacon-In-Charge July 1. He will be ordained to the priesthood in the early fall.
Joshua is a native of Bentonville, Arkansas. He has a bachelor’s degree from Greenville University in Illinois and got his PhD in Philosophy from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, where he served as the chaplain of St. Martin’s, the Episcopal campus ministry, for four years.
Joshua is married to Jenna, and they have two children: Jude, age 7, and Ruby, age 4. They also have a dog named Harvey. Joshua and his family very much look forward to moving to Jonesboro. They are particularly excited about exploring the NEA wilderness, and about bringing their canoe back to Arkansas rivers. Joshua is also a lover of art and film and anticipates bringing that love to his ministry in creative ways. Most of all, Joshua is excited to get to know and love the people of St. Mark’s.
