Here are the 2015 Vestry candidates (we are electing four full term, and one partial term):
I am a graduate of Trumann High School, East Arkansas Community College and Arkansas State University where I received a BSE in Early Childhood/Elementary Education. I have been employed in public schools for over twenty years in Forrest City, Wynne and have worked since 2008 in Jonesboro Public Schools as a class room teacher and an instructional facilitator.
I am very familiar with the work of a vestry member since I have had the opportunity to serve in Forrest City and to also observe Jim during his three years serving as a vestry member. If elected to the vestry at Sr. Mark’s, I am certainly willing to serve to the best of my ability to help direct St. Mark’s as it continues to grow.
Ryker and Candee Robinson led Children’s Chapel during Sunday services from 2006-2011, and helped with the Christmas Pageant Stage Crew in the 2000’s.
Ryker is very active in Men’s Club, having won the Golf Scramble Green Jackets nine times. Ryker has also helped raise funds as Pancake Day Chairman, taking over for his dad, Robin, since 2010. Most recently he served as a Committee Chair for our Shrimp Boil Fundraiser.
His successful, professional career with Medical companies: Johnson & Johnson, Stryker, and Bayer can translate to effective service on the Vestry. Ryker’s business competencies include: managing budgets, minimizing risk, driving consensus and presenting effective solutions to large hospitals and business groups. Having benefitted from St. Mark’s for nearly 20 years now, I feel it is time I give back through my efforts.
I am currently the President of the St. Mark’s Men’s Club and have held that position for several years now. I am active in the church serving as an usher, leading our co-ed softball team and have served on the Shrimp Boil committee every year.
I work at Jonesboro High School as a teacher and coach and have done so for the last 16 years.
