Each year at our annual meeting in January, St. Mark’s elects four people to serve on the vestry for a three year term. The vestry is the governing body of the church, and it is responsible for budgets and buildings, and helping the Priest with the vision for the future.
This year, in addition to the regular four, we are electing a fifth person to complete a term. If you are interested in running for election to this body, please contact Fr. Jesse or Jim McInturff, our senior warden.
Requirements for serving on the vestry:
- A confirmed communicant of the Parish in good standing of not less than 18 years of age.
- A frequent attendant upon the services of the Parish for the six
months preceding the election
- A regular contributor or a member of a family unit which is a
regular contributor for the support of the parish*
PROVIDED: (1) a husband and wife shall not both be members of the vestry at the same time and (2) members of the full time paid staff (including clergy) of a parish and their spouses shall not be eligible to serve.
In case of a question as to eligibility, the report of the Rector as to communicant status, church attendance, and financial support shall be final. [Canon 24.Section 6b]
