HELPING NEIGHBORS FOOD PANTRY . . . For May the special needs
at the Helping Neighbors Food Pantry are large cans (not the giant cans)
of fruit and soup. We have many large families and these are great for them.
As you grocery shop try to remember those less fortunate than you and put
one or two cans in for them! The pantry always appreciates any
non-perishable food items or gifts of money.
CHURCH PERIODICAL CLUB INGATHERING TODAY. . . Dedicated to the ministry of the printed word throughout the world, the CPC supplies reading, study, reference, teaching, and devotional materials FREE to those who otherwise cannot obtain them. Wherever the church is at work – at home, or abroad, in inner city or seminary or mission outpost – CPC books and periodicals are there as well.
RETIREMENT PARTY . . . There will be a reception for Norman Stafford, Ross Marlay and Scott Darwin in honor of their retirement at the Grand Hall of the Fowler Center on May 5th from 4 to 5:30. You are all invited to attend!
EUCHARISTIC MINISTER/LECTOR TRAINING . . . Have you considered serving the church as a Eucharistic Minister or a Lector? Mother Jo Ann will be doing training on Tuesday May 6 at 6:30 PM for those who are interested. She would love to have teenagers as lectors, too! Call Mother Jo Ann if you are interested.
UNITED THANK OFFERING INGATHERING, MAY 11 . . . Through the ministry of the UTO we nurture the habit of giving daily thanks to God. As we give a prayer of thanksgiving we drop a coin in our UTO Box. All offering are used to for grants at home and overseas as an outreach of the Episcopal Church.
PENTECOST SUNDAY, MAY 11 . . . We will have the second service in the garden. Hymns will be from “Lift Every Voice and Sing.” Come be part of the celebration of the coming of the Holy Spirit!
ARKANSAS CURSILLO COMMUNITY . . . will have a 4th Day Fiesta on May 17 from 10AM to 3PM at Holly Cross Episcopal Church in West Memphis. Applications Can be picked up in office.
TRINITY SUNDAY . . . We will honor our Education for Ministry graduates as well as our High School Seniors on Pentecost Sunday, May 18. The EFM class will receive their diplomas at the 10:30 AM Holy Eucharist. A reception will follow.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL . . . Sign up sheets for help and applications for Vacation Bible School are on the table in St. Martha’s Hall. The dates are June 16-19. We need your help! |
